When Jack at Croft Engineering recommended Statii to fellow machine shop One-O-Five Precision, both businesses came out ahead. See how Jack earned £300 from a single referral, which he selflessly used to treat the workshop to new tools.

When Jack Patrickson at Croft Engineering heard his friend Richard describe the gaps in how One-O-Five Precision was running its jobs, he knew exactly what to suggest. One recommendation and one short form later, One-O-Five is up and running on Statii MRP, and Croft has a £300 reward to show for it. They spent it on the "nice to have" workshop tools they'd been putting off buying, so the whole team got something out of it.
Here's how the Statii Referral Programme worked for both businesses, in their own words.
Croft Engineering is a subcontract CNC milling and turning business offering full engineering services under one roof. Recent investment in a twin-spindle Doosan Puma 2600SY and a Doosan DNM 500 II vertical machining centre has widened the range of work it can take on. The team has run the business on Statii for around three years.
Croft and One-O-Five are local businesses with a strong working partnership, and Jack is friends with One-O-Five's director, Richard. When Richard talked through the problems he was seeing, Jack recognised them straight away. One-O-Five was quoting on spreadsheets, using separate software for purchase orders and works orders, and had no proper scheduling or stock control.
"We'd spent a long time looking for the right fit for our own business, so I knew the difference it could make." — Jack Patrickson, Croft Engineering
For Croft, making the referral was the easy part.
"The referral was quick and easy. We told One-O-Five about Statii, filled in the referral, and Statii handled the rest." — Jack Patrickson, Croft Engineering
Once the form was in, the Statii team took it from there: confirming One-O-Five was eligible, getting in touch and introducing the platform. Jack didn't need to chase anything or sit in on sales calls.
One-O-Five Precision Ltd is a CNC machining company based in Dalston, Carlisle. It produces one-off and batch work in aluminium, plastic, stainless and mild steel for customers in oil and gas, nuclear, defence, motorsport and aerospace.
As the company grew, it outgrew its existing software. General Manager Chris Izon wanted a system that would grow with the business and give clearer visibility of production costs and efficiency across the shop.
One-O-Five wasn't new to manufacturing software, but a recommendation from a business it already trusted is what tipped the decision.
"We had existing software that we had outgrown, and the recommendation from Croft was the main reason we switched to Statii." — Chris Izon, General Manager, One-O-Five Precision
One-O-Five wanted Statii live as quickly as possible, so implementation was a priority from day one.
"The team at One-O-Five were well supported by Statii through each stage of the process, and any issues were resolved promptly, which meant a smooth transition onto the new software."
It's still early days, but the change is already showing. With everything from quote to invoice in one place, jobs are easier to track and monitor. Chris reports significant improvements in the visibility and control of operations and costs.
"One of the key reasons we chose Statii was its ability to bring together production, purchasing, stock control and reporting into a single platform, giving us much better visibility across the business."
He's candid that no off-the-shelf system is perfect. Where small gaps have come up, the Statii team has worked with One-O-Five to resolve them or find workarounds, and Chris rates Statii as excellent value for money. His advice to manufacturers still relying on spreadsheets or disconnected systems is clear:
"It's a system that can grow with your business, making it a valuable long-term investment rather than just a short-term fix." — Chris Izon, General Manager, One-O-Five Precision
Once One-O-Five became a paying customer, Croft's reward arrived just as simply. Jack received an email from Tremendous, Statii's rewards partner, filled in a quick form and chose a £300 Amazon voucher.
"It was really straightforward. We spent it on a few 'nice to have' workshop tools that we'd been putting off buying!"
For Jack, the programme works for everyone involved.
"It's a win for everyone really. It helps Statii and the new potential customer, and you get a nice reward for doing so!" — Jack Patrickson, Croft Engineering
If you know a manufacturer stuck with spreadsheets, disconnected systems or software they've outgrown, a quick introduction could help them the way Croft helped One-O-Five, and earn you £300 in the process.
You don't need to be a Statii customer to refer, and there's no limit on how many referrals you can make. The business you refer must be new to Statii and not already talking to our team. See the full terms and conditions for details.
